Today we left Alice Springs and took a bus ride to Ayers Rock. Ayers Rock is sandstone monolith (mountain) in middle of flat plains. Things are green here which is very unusual for summer in the outback. The rock is 1,114 feet high and some days you can climb the surface. Many have died climbing. We tried to see a sunset on the rock (along with hundreds of other people)but too many clouds. Some people rode camels. Saw a kangaroo but she was in an enclosure; none in the wild .
